LWV of Adams County meetings are held September thru May twice per month.

 

All meetings are held at:

Community Reach Center

Northglenn, CO 80233

2nd Monday of the month from 6:30pm - 8:00pm in Room 201 (Bob's Place).   Gather at 6:15 for coffee.

4th Monday of the month from 11:30 am to 1:00pm in the Hawaii Room.  Gather at 11:15 am for coffee.

Who Will Save the Denver Post?

 

Greg Moore, retired Editor-in-Chief of the Denver Post, will be the guest speaker.  He left the Post in 2016.  He will speak about the fate of newspapers and journalists across the nation, the future of journalism as he sees it, the role of a robust newspaper in a democracy, the loss of local newspapers, and the consolidation of TV stations.  He will answer questions.  Greg now works for Deke Digital in Wheatridge.

 

May 21st:

Board meetings are open to all members.

TUESDAY May 29th @ 11:30 am:

Legislative Wrap-Up on the

TUESDAY after Memorial Day

League Lobbyist, Andrea Wilkins, will sum up the legislative session.

Previous meetings included :Common Core, Senior Mental Health, Food and Water Watch, Brighton Youth Commission, Saving the Honey Bees, Election Code Changes, the United Nations Association, Affordable Care Act, Human Trafficking, Campaign Finance, Affordable Housing, a consensus on Agriculture Policy, Money in Politics, observation and a meeting with the Adams County Commissioners
